What is the Veterans Aid & Attendance Pension for Surviving Spouses?

The VA Aid & Attendance (A&A) program is a monthly supplemental pension earned through your spouse's United States military service. It provides financial assistance to surviving spouses who need help with daily activities.

This pension offers up to $1,228 per month in additional income, supplementing Social Security, pensions, or disability benefits. This pension can also cover monthly expenses for short- and long-term senior care facilities, as well as household, health, medical, and other related expenses.
